Not very exciting I know, but I've spent ages looking for somewhere that sells turn buckles without much luck so I thought I'd have a go at making my own.

Tarted up the big one a bit, and even saved a gram of weight in the process.

The little one is part of an adjustable alternator mount for the British Open, I've got an MPI rad in the front so the alternator has had to be relocated and it's a bit of a pain to tension the belt as it is currently.

The bigger one will be used without the spherical joints to form part of the internal gear linkage I'm building for the clubman, which is inspired by the linkage NGL has in his mini.

However I've a feeling that I'll end up with a load of them all over the cars as I quite enjoy playing with the lathe.

Ive got a really old myford lathe which isnt ideal for doing jobs that need to have perfect tollerances but it does what i want it to. I do want a better 1 though.

I know what you mean my lathe is from the stone age, and I'd like a better one, but it work and is better than a kick in the teeth.

Had a bit of a production run going this afternoon, note I went for aluminum in stead of steel this time, hence the difference in coloration, if anyone's after any ally hexagonal rod Merlin sell it (took me ages to find somewhere that sell ally hex):

But sadly disaster struck:

The plan it to use the short ones for lower gear box mounts and use the longer ones to hold my rad in place:

Joe, I should be able to make something for you, next time I'm in the workshop I'll have a play with an old actuator.

Still working on an actuator, I think my out actuator must have become hardened from the heat of the turbo as it was a pig to work and I wrecked tool lathe tools trying, need to rethink that one.

Made up a custom gear linkage for my mates Rover K series conversion today, quite pleased but the results even if the old linkage was a bit manky to start with.
