Hi,

Is there anyone local to me (cm36td) with oxy-acetaline that will braze some feed/return fiittings into a couple of tanks for me?

I've given it a go but my blowtorch just aint hot enough*indifferent*

Thinking about it Joe, can't you use your TIG to get enough heat into it?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

silver solder it, your torch has enough heat in it for that

you will only want one rod, pricey thought around 8 to £10 a stick

If its just a fuel tank, I can pop round this weekend. Borrow a mig on route. :)

Weeeell,

using thre tig torch was a no go, the heat is far to localised,

actually I think its going to be a pain to braze anyway as two of the fittings are brass, plus one tank ( the R/H one) is deciding top crack around where the fitting is going...

I should have thought a bit harder about this....

I'm going to grab some silver solder and give that a crack.

Hows the new job going by the way Jason?
