Hi all,

I have had an ongoing problem where my mini cuts out after it has got hot. With some help from you guys I have ruled out the ignition module on my dizzy. - But still having problems.

I recently bought a fuel pressure gauge and set the fuel pressure to 3.5psi on idle (it was about 6psi).

When the engine is cold it runs fine and boosts fine right up to 9psi of boost and about 15psi of fuel pressure, as many times as you like!
Once the engine has got hot, if you go on and off of boost the fuel pressure eventually disappears to 0psi, and will only rise a little when on boost.

If you look at the fuel filter it seems to be half full and bubbling - could the fuel be boiling? The engine is getting to about 82 -84 deg C.
I have removed the cooling pipes from the manifold - was this bad idea? Is anyone running cooling pipes on their engine?

Any help appreciated

what tank/pump/fuel line combo are you running?

82/84 degree's isnt hot at all.

Those filters are always full but they are still working.

Blow down your return and make sure it is clear. should be very easy.

I am running the small mini petrol tank with modified feed and return. I have upgraded the fuel lines to 8mm feed and 10mm return.
I am using the metro turbo pump and fuel pressure regulator.
I have a fuel filter between the regulator and carb, oh and a t-piece for my fuel pressure gauge.
The fuel filter is new and still looks clean.

Sounds ok. End of the day though as Dave has said, only the pump and regulator effect the fuel flow. Maybe the pump is worn out? Maybe it just cant withstand pumping high pressure for a long time.

Is it receiving the full 12v and sound like it is when the pressure is low?
