Everybody goes on about the BMW head being a cheap way of getting a crossflow head. Can anyone who has done it tell me roughly how much it cost to do the conversion from start to finnish. I would like to compare it to the cost of a 7port head.

depends what you want and how much you can do yourself.

the 8 valve bimmer heads can be had for about 100-150 quid, the 16v ones were going for about 350, but on top of that you will need the head modded, the block modded the pistons moddd and sort an ecu out.

All depends on what you doing? EFi, turbo, making parts yourself, what parts you can re-use?

If your starting from scratch, assuming 'box is up to it, and you can do all the machining yourself probably, 2k N/A build?

Your probably looking more like 4k if not for K head full EFI. All depends what sort of setup your going for really? *oh well*
