thats the same as mine dude. its a switched live, the stereo comes on after the first click in the accessory position. i'd have thought thats how everyones works as pos 3 is only used to start the car. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

it should technically come on on position 3 or when the oil pressure is high. see your other post. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

The era was wired through thru an oil pressure switch, so that in the event of an accident and the engine stopping, the oil pressure drop would cause the switch to open and stop the pump. Only problem is how do you get fuel to your engine before it fires into life (maybe not enough oil pressure from cranking on starter & slow). So a link from the starter solenoid was run to the fuel pump. When ignition at 3 the current flowed to the pump from the solenoid untill oil pressure was sufficient to operate the oil switch.

i run both era system with an inertial switch but bear in mind what other people have recommended that the inertia switch should be wired to your ignition to to avoild excessive lean out should you hit a pothole etc and your pump might cut out no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
