hi all,

im new to these boards, will post an intro in due course

i have a mark 3, im rebuilding, currently have a decent 1320 engine in the car running (or should be when i finish the car) running on a weber 45.

but im used to 3 litre cars, and dont think that is going to be enough power for me, so ive been looking into the vauxhall engine conversions. but to be honest, i really cant be bothered with taking all the subframe out again, and cutting the front off to extend it, as its deseamed.

anyway, finally getting to the point, would i be able to run a turbo setup on this engine? or does it really need to come out to make way for a turbo engine?

many thanks

dave

C/R bound to be your major problem.

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

yep thats the problem as mark says. depends what it is at the moment though, you may get away with a big chambered head.

Its the first thing to consider. Plus how strong the pistons are.

am not sure on the exact spec of the engine. brought it from a guy whose car got stuffed from behind by a volvo. if c/r is a problem, how could this be lowered?

so in theory then, al i need to do is change to a decent turbo head, or do some work on the existing head, and it should run ok with the turbo setup. is this right?

If you have flat top pistons , you`re in the shit cos your gonna need a 40cc head !!!!
