the problem I am having is that the fan belt when in place seems to hit the alloy sensor mount see pic, I feel I must be missing something but cant spot it any ideas ??

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

you will have to modd the bracket to sort it ... or may be if you have room pitch the altinator up so the belts clear

some better pics of the whole set up would be nice *smiley* *smiley*

What alternator is fitted? How much room do you have to spare behind it?

If there's room behind, you could fit a shorter belt and bring it closer to the block. If not, you could fit a smaller alternator (eg Nippon Denso) and a shorter belt so that you can get it closer still.

Cant you bore out the hole on the bracket or plate to move it away slightly?

Or will this move the sensor too far away for a reading??

Comparing the two pics would suggest that the top one is on upside down - try taking it off and turning through 180 degrees.

I think my one is a little different design they can only go one way around as the bolts are different dia

paul, im as confused as you now? Are you def using the correct holes?

maybe try it further down like in my pic, it should 'hug' the timing cover.

did you buy it direct from SC?

early on in production their machinist made a mistake on one batch and a few 'mirrored' versions were sent out by accident.

john and mark sent replacements out as soon as it was brought to their attention, but maybe someone has palmed off one of the dodgy batch?

actually just as Joey, after having a look at it again it looks like it needs to move downwards by one hole.
