The 66 woody traveller I’ve been putting together (for what seems like an eternity :) ) has got a 998 engine from a 1990 Racing Green in it. The RG had a minispares stage one kit on it, but with it all fitted in the traveller for some reason the airbox will not fit between the carb and the scuttle.

It’s annoying as personally I think it would be nicer to drive with the airbox on, but it looks like I’ll have to fit a small cone filter instead. So my question is: K&N cotton or pipercross foam filter – which is best?

Thanks

This will sound daft, but try installing the airbox on its own (no lid) and then put the lid on afterwards.

Can't explain why but sometimes it works.

If you do go for a cone, the foam ones seem to be quieter than the cotton ones.
