hello all, i have just bought my first mini, a 1275 turbo and would like to ask a couple a questions, firstly the turbo lag, is pretty shit, the steering is very very twitchy,move it a little and it moves all over the place,its got 13"minilites,any hints tips etc for the lag and steering,sorry but its probably been asked more than once on here,cheers

my advice is lose the 13s

it varies with width and offset, but on a std car they make the ride scary a fook in my opinion.

as for the lag, could be a million things, whats the cars spec? has it been tuned?

its been lowered has blistein ajustables,dont know too much about the engine,i know the guy i bought it from goin to see him later to see what hes done engine wise, hes not long finished building it,the engines not been running for about 3 year

i dont get why your haveing a problem.

im running 13x8 alley cats on mine with a solid mouted sub frame.

the guy i bought it from said it needs the tracking done,will give that a try

I'd get the suspension set up properly before anything else

Handling could be lots of things, check front and back. toe out at the back can make the car feel all over the place.

At the front tracking and caster are the most likely suspects. But shocks that are set too firm won't help on our bumpy roads.

Does the car have an LSD?

As for lag, if it got a T3 and low CR you're stuck.

those 13's look like they have massive offset, this will make the sterring heavier and imo give masisve bump steer

if you get chance, throw a different set of wheels on and see what sits like then, i think youll be surprised
