Im looking at getting a quick rack but after reading other threads there seems alot of different opinions with regards to quality with different makes.

Any suggestions of what makes are good and which ones to avoid?

Cheers
Matt

the minispares ones are okay, if they get slopy its often a matter of knocking a bush on one side of them back into the tube, as it may have slid out.

Not much point on the road, with a high power FWD car a slower rack can be better anyway.

It's not as if the standard rack has a massive turns ratio.

We found that the TT was better with a standard ratio rack.

Really? I got the impression the majority of people use the quick racks on here?

I had a quik rack and to be honest ive just changed it for a standard rack due to wear, easyer to park and not much differnce when driving, 2.7 turns as oposed to 2.2 lock to lock.

love that straight cut scream!!!

I'd sort of agree with this comment, when I put a quick rack on, it was hard to tell the difference, but swapping back just made the car smoother to drive.

Do they still make them? I thought they stopped about a year or so ago.

Ihave a QH opne on mine, was fine when running the 998 but now with the torque steer its a bit more of an interesting drive, to say the least, its very twitchy.

i got a a recon minispares rack and it was (is) crap, as i use my car every day i havent had a chance to change it tho, its just lucky my mot man is a bit freindly.....

i'd either "adjust" the existing rack or go for a genuine rack or and give it a good check over as they arn't the easyest thing to change.

I made up a couple of bush's that goes in the passenger side end out of that black self lubing plastic, if you want the dimensions or a bush to try let me know.
