do any one have different bulbs in there H4 lights?? as the 55w - 60w bulbs as standard are rubbish at when one is enjoying the back road at night!

I know you can be more powerful bulbs, are these ok for the normal mini wiring loom??

I use H4 100/120 on all my cars, it gives not double the light but it makes a huge difference.
The point is that on cars that use normally duplo bulbs, the H4 may generate to much heat and therefore may not survive as long as expected in a nowadays car.
try it you will like it.

Yep i agree. I have melted the switch with just the normal 55w bulbs. I got some of those 50% brighter jobbies (zennon or something) for the lotus and was very impressed with the difference.

I'd still advise a relay as the pink rover relay and wireing got very hot in mine with 90/100 watt bulbs *blush*

I found with a relay and a decent earth mine are loads brighter than while relieing on the pink relay *wink*

"relay as the pink rover relay and wireing got very hot in mine "

this is interesting mate as my pink one gets bloody hot to, but on normal wattage bulbs, and some times it smells like it's burning a little, car sticks and it's is coming from that large rely.

yup and the upside is power direct from the battery, altenator connection on the starter
with the standard wireing running high beam and a relay running main beam . high beam is dimmer than main beam *laughing*

I'm using 100 Watt Rally bulbs (they look like blue light from some angles), they are very bright. I don't have any relays, just standard wiring loom and I haven't had any electrical problems.

try hooking them direct to the main power lead and watch them get brighter *wink*
as from the main power lead relayed they'll get 14volts when the cars running without the power drain of running through the loom *wink*
