Well, new minis weigh about 1200KG, with 210HP thats 175HP per ton. A proper mini weighs about 650KG so woud need 113.75HP. That all assumes that thier drag coeffiecients, transmissional losses, final drive ratios and grip levels (and probably loads of other stuff that I can't think of off hand) are equal. And that only considers going in a straight line.

Afraid it dont work that way.. My mini has around 109 at the wheels, say 130 at the flywheel, my MINI has 175 at the flywheel and is a second or more quicker to 60.. ( though feels a second slower!!) I guess its down to the low down torque band. gearing and the ability to put the power on the ground..

the new mini is almoust stock. It just have a chip and other pullys on the blower. I told him that if my mini had 150hp i could give him alittle scare. He just laugh and say not a chance. I realy hate that cocky s o b

Hence why I said it relies on FD and grip levels aswell as other factors. You just disagreed and agreed with me in the same post *Confused*

ive kept off a bini s with a relitivly standard engine abit of head work and a fiddled carb.

stright line would have had me.

corners he couldent keep up, especially as i knew the road so well.

however thats with 13x8 wheels so its brillient on corners however on the strights its horible.

but no slowing down for corners.

just say there is a mini with around that power thats doing sub 12 second 1/4`s

im right in thinking thats what carl and tom have brought it down to right?

I had a MINI GP the 210bhp one in my pocket al the way around Mondello just over a year ago in my N/A 1430 clubby and thats only got 136bhp...A well set up turbo will have no bother in my eyes... as Steve said show him teh Benross vid n that might change his mind!!!
I was that far ahead in the corners the straights didnt seem to make much of a difference, but as the lads say its all about getting power to the ground...

Be a man and put £200 beating him up your local hillclimb. He will probably nail you in a straight line but you'd nail him on the twisties. Binis have longer legs to run with.

You could always resort to a bongathon. Rig up a massive bong and see who can rip the most, failing that, get your willies out and see who has the biggest one. This isn't about who has the fastest car, it's about inferiority complexes.

If you like, I'll give you a one off recipe for some seriously high octane fuel, wind the boost right up and wee all over his BMW 1/2 series for sure

Bugger off, I'm getting there.
