Hi

I've been reading up on the site for a couple of days, seems to be a whole host of information.

I am in the process of fitting a 1293 turbo in my 95 cooper, so far i have most of the parts I need, however I still have a few questions really.

Currently I have no intercooler, and I don't want to have to struggle fitting one just yet, will I be able to run the engine niceley without one, and if not, what intercooler is suggested, I understand maybe the smart car or renault 5 are popular on here?

Also I want to know what the best coil/dizzy set up, I was thinking of an Aldon yellow, but then I read about megajolt, and as far as I understand there is not much price difference?

Thanks very much for your help in advance

Eliot

You don't have to fit an intercooler, but doing so will allow you to release a decent chunk of power without spending much money. The majority of people do fit one.

An aldon yellow is a NA dizzy and is not ideal for a turbo engine. Either use a Metro turbo distributor setup, or as you say the MegaJolt is a very good solution as it allows boost ignition retard.

ok, the intercooler is definately planned, its just finding all the right bits to put one in i guess, as i dont fancy fabricating all my own brackets etc.

Megajolt seems to be the way forward, although everyone seems to be raiding fords for their units, is there not somewhere i can buy a whole kit to do it?

thanks for your help Tom

There are kits on fleaBay, but will pay more than you would from a scrappy.
