What pump are you using? And is it pumping fuel when disconnected from the carb? |

So there is nothing wrong.

I would be inclined to suggest float falve gunged up, you ran the ank dry not so long ago and you are not using any inline filters, i cant think of anything else buddy. when you brought it to me it was running on three cylinders, i believe you and Jordie have checked the coil etc and it is ok, so i am stumped buddy.

compressions are fine. You allow for a couple lee way. Defo a spark at all plugs, the engine doesnt seem to like those NGK's so try using the champion ones when it does run again.

Get#1 on the compression stroke ( tdc and both rocker arms UP) and make sure the dizzy rotor arm points to the wire that goes to #1 spark plug then anticlockwise from there wires 3,4,2 should be connected in that order.. If that doesn't work you need to decide what you have touched since it last run.. Terry website:- http://www.terryhunt.co.uk

got hold of a timing light and it was miles out, put it somewhere near and it really tried to run at one point but as soon as the engine tries to go, the starter motor lets off the flywheel and the engine dies... its as if it needs to turn it over a few times and get it running before it disengages

new starter on it, timing set, different coil(cheers richie), new plugs and a mess with fuelling and it runs like a dream !
