Guys,

Being a newbie to this forumk, a total mini nut and also having LOADS of good engineering contacts to get parts manufactured....I want to have a go at converting my 1380cc Cooper to run the bini supercharger.

Now obviously not wanting to pay out of my bum for a complete conversion, I am planning to buy the pulley off Jonspeed and then assemble the rest of the parts myself.

I need help in 2 main areas.....

1./ How do i modify the MPI Inlet Manifold to mount the Bini Charger on....has anyone got any pics, drawings, dimensions of the adaptor plate I need to manufacture??

2./ I belive the bini charger needs a bit of cutting/trimming and an additional tensioner pulley fitting to it....again has anyone got any part numbers for the pulley and pics/drawings on how it is fitted to the bini charger??

3./ Lastly...Belts.....can anyone reccomend the correct make/part number of belts to make to hook the charger upto the jonspeed pulley???

Please get back to me guys?? ALL help greatfully appreciated!

Cheers

Andy8-)

blimey chill its only been 3 hrs since you posted and this is a small forum

i would see jonspeed or vmax about it, it may seem a cost saving but dont forget when you buy a full kit you are also paying for some of the development costs

either that or throw some cash at developing your own, even better would be to turbo it as superchargers are for girls

Give us a chance.

There is only limited experience of supercharger use on this forum.

There are a few guys running them but they may take a day or so to reply.

Agree with the Wolf,

Turbo it, much more fun.

I wouldn't start multiple threads like this. You need to be a little more patient or you will have a running with...

Sorry for being over keen guys. I spend most of my time on the Skyline GT-R owners forum.......and answers are posted up in an hour or so....but I take your point...that is a large forum and this is a small forum!!!

As to posting multiple threads up.......dont get that...I posted this one and another asking if anyone was selling bits!!

On another note......ive gotta say guys...there is a fair bit of bitching going on in this forum..........everyone can take a joke but surely there is a limit!!

Im not having a go at anyone and BELIVE ME....I cant take it and deffo give it out........I just wanted to post up my perspective as a newbie...thats all!!!

Anyway...now ive said my bit......I know I could go and buy a kit...that defeats the object. Im an Engineer by trade and an Engineering buyer by trade now so I have LOADS of suppliers who can manufacture one off parts for a small or no cost.....so why pay for a kit?????

On that note....why do people call Jonspeed "Jokespeed"???

Answers on a postcard...or on here!!!

Cheers

Andy

i think it was as your first post then second wernt even in the newbies thread. as for the bitching i wouldnt even call it that. i have seen alot worse on bigger forums from people posting like you did.
as for you saying your an engineer why not just build a manifold for all the MPI bits to fit with a custom manifold?

The rule of thumb with this forum is people say how they feel, it might be blunt to some but you know where you stand!

on a more serious note, use the search button and look at posts about mirage manifolds, and superchargers you may find some info your looking for.
turbo conversion w/o bulkhead modifications get a mirage manifold setup or as your an engine eer make one?

Seriously, this is a really sound forum. OK some long term members don't suffer fools easily but I can't see a problem with that. I have never had any grief from anyone on here and I find this the best mini related forum.

TM is a bit of a strange forum in that most of us know each other due to the size a specialist nature of the forum. I find it easier to treat it as a group of mates in the pub as opposed to a "traditional forum"

I couldn't possibly comment as I've never brought anything off them, but I can put you in touch with a few people who have should you wish.

I've only seen one adaptor plate and that was on ebay and went for still money, however it wasn't any thing fancy just a slab of metal with a few holes in it I reckon if you put a blower on top of the manifold and played around with a bit of cardboard you could come up with something pretty quickly.

I think the only mod is the addition of the tensioner pulley, I think it's off a golf or possible a sierra (where's Fat Stig when you need him he know random stuff like this)

Your best bet is to measure how long a belt you need using a bit of string and going down to your local motor factors, mine stock any length of belt I want.
