I've been using a fairly mild cam in my turbo and thus is fading a bit at top end. I still want to keep some drivability as i have now, but want to produce some more power? I've been told as well as gavin wakely (from a previous thread) that piper do a cam called a 475 or a 465? But i can't find it on the piper site

hmm, i am using a kent 266 in mine at the moment, reading a bit more into it, looking at the avon bar phase 3 turbo cam it produces power from 3000-8500, surely thats far to high for a turbo mini? it will just put all the power on at the same time the turbo is coming on boost surely? Am i right??????? "Cars are a lifetime of pain" |

The P3 is to radical to be honest, you'll lose all the bottom end the 266 gives. |

Been looking into this myself and the ph2 seams the way to go, not sure how much of a difference it will make bhp wise over the 266 tho.

hmm well the 266 ran really well but it did seem to run out of steam at 6000, which to the specs is expected, i might try the avonbar cam, over the winter, it just seemed to die a little bit with 18 psi at 6500, but low down its fantastic. I must admit it drives so well and still made 182bhp on the rollers. maybe i'm reading into it to much. i just want to get in the 12's! "Cars are a lifetime of pain" |

Are you sure that it's the cam limiting the top end?

well it ran a 13.5 with full road gear, if i took the cage and the other bottle of nitrous out then i reckon it will be about 550, there's not a great deal of metal left and also a lot of aluminium components, i can stick more gas in but if its not letting enough fuel etc in then its fairly pointless? i don't think its the turbo running out of steam its a t3 so fairly big, and there are no ristrictions in the exhaust it has one box at the very end of the exhaust. maybe i'm just to keen!!!!! i want a medal!!! You are right on the edge of the compressor map at 180hp and probably suffering from high exhaust back pressure as well.
