Sorry guys a bit OT, but...

My dad is servicing my sisters Mercedes A Class, but he can't find the location of the oil filter or plugs.

Anyone know where they are hiding.

I'll get my sis to send you a kiss when she's back from her holiday!

Aaarrrgh, A-Class! I've done some work on them and everything is a nightmare. I've never done plugs or oil filter but I remember one of the lads in work telling me about the plugs. They are just infront of the steering rack. Nope, I'm not taking the piss *surprised*
If you still have any trouble, I can ring my mate to ask him

are they like the smart cars that dont have a sump plug and you have to use an oil pump through the dipstick hole. about half an hour later you are ready to refill the oil.

nightmare!

Shit, this doesn't sound good.

I can see the dipstick and the plugs are probably on the bulkhead side as the inlet goes down there. I'll have a proper look over the weekend.

Cheers guys

Any more thoughts are much appreciated.

Think the filter is on the top of the engine a paper element inside a canister?

Your probably right. It will certainly be a paper element in a plastic case

ps, there's a funky device you need to empty the oil through the oil filler hole, it works on a vacuum apparently

Shit this sounds like it's going to be such a trauma.

Are you guys serious about the lack of oil drain plug?

I think that we've found the location of the oil filter and plugs (one lead??)
