Hi,

got my cilinderhead ported and before i could paint it i cleaned it in the washer at work.
But when it came out i saw something i did not like*oh well*

On top off the central exhaust port i noticed a differant colour. It must been extremely hot there, the lines are blue at the outside of the spot. And i see some lines inside off the head. I think it is most likely that it is start cracking over the and that's why the hot spot is over there, so the head it scrap. But maybe there is a other explanation for this:$ So how can i make sure what i got*tongue*

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

look carefully if there is no cracks between the valve seats and none where the springs sit your fine . use a magnifieng glass
to be 100% you could have it crack tested

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

The coloured spot looks like a valve guide tightened and caused a huge amount of heet to be transmitied into the guide hole caused friction between the guide and the valve, I have seen this on many race motors most times I have had to press the valve out of the guide with a hydraluic press.

Paul.

if a tightened valve guide was the problem. I would suspect the heat spot more to one side and not so in the middle or is this wrong thinking *Confused*

Ok on closer inspection of your pic it looks like EGT was what caused the problam If you look at the pic the blueing is only around the exhaust valve and ports I would hazard a gues the Ignition timing was your problam or elve the rong type of Exhaust Valve guides if it was on a turbo.
regards,
Paul.
