An easy one for yous guys on here, what size is the nut on the input gear? The pinion nut was no problem, it fell off in my hand!

its some funny size that is quite unique

I cant remember but i always use an ill fitting socket 24mm or something

I measured it at 28.5ish mm but what is that in imperial? 30mm is way to big and 27mm is too wee. I am rubbish with imperial, I think 1-3/16 is too big too. Hmmm..

1 1/8" AF always works for me.

It should be imperial bearing in mind the age !!!

EDIT - just tried a socket on one and 1 1/8" seems to fit fine.

Ah why don't Halfrauds do imperial sockets and why doesn't B&Q do any kind of hand tools at all? No where open so that's me finished for the night.
