Hi, was going to replace the bearings as a mater of course as the engine is being stripped (1275), is this just big end bearings? as i cant find any info or what i need for the rods..

also can someone explain the 'oversize' option and if / why i should use it.

cheers, Mark.

Main bearings = crank to block
Big ends = crank to rods
Little end = irrelevant on a 1275 as the gudgeon pin is interference fit in the rod.

"oversize" is actually undersize and is how much the crankshaft has been reground when it has worn. Usually in increments of 10 thou (ie, -010, 020, 030 etc..) Marked on the bearing shells.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
