Ive got the same belt drive system as this one now.
I Had to take the cam apart again on the new one.
But what i id notice, there was oil once again inside the cam belt cover, and over the cam belt. it looks like it's leaking from cam case small seal (crank side in the picture)
there wasn't alot of oil, about a teaspoon full maybe. is that ok, or what would u suggest ?

Cheers :)

You cant afford to have any oil inside the belt cover.
When I fitted mine I drilled the mounting holes in the seal plate a little bigger so that with all the bolts fitted loosely the whole thing can centre itself once both the pulleys are fitted, then nip up the bolts.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Good idea that mate.
Think i'll try that.
Just looked at mine, and there is no play whatsoever on the cam plate. So maybe my cam plate isn't central when it's all fitted.
so i guess the crank side is rubbing on the seal, which could be Wearing the seal after few 100 miles, hence the leak *tongue*
He hopes :) but it does make sence.

Cheers for that paul. :)

You fit the pulley first, then tighten the cover.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Is it a good idea to put some oil or a little bit of grease on the inside lip of the seals ? as it seems to me the cam gears rub tight on the seals, which will wear quicker ?

Cheers
