Well I'm off to Cadwell Park tomorow to do a trackday in the 205, seeing as the DON is on the trailer and ready to go it seemed a shame not to take it along so I've arranged to park the 205 up for a bit during the afternoon so I can take the DON for a trundle round!

Should be fun, I will be strapping the video camera in too.

Anyone in the area and fancies coming to watch then I'm 99% sure it is free to get in.

Oh cadwell, ive had an off there that was expensive.

Would love to come tom but as everyone else am busy working, you should of let us no last week so i could of arranged a day off.

Make sure the camera is working.

Well yesterday went really well, lovely dry and hot weather all day long, the 205 behaved itself faultlessly all day, and with its newly fitted AVO coilovers and eccentric top mounts up front is handling better than ever.

The DON also had a run round, quite good fun as you can imagine, with the usual crowd of people gathering round it, first of all I went out for just 2 laps to get an idea of how much fuel it would get through, having established that I had enough for about 7 laps I went out again during the afternoon for a run of about 5 laps. I had been taking it pretty carefully especially when giving it some hammer and using the power, but it was actually very very stable in cornering, and even on the old knackered 10" A008's it could corner bloody well, the lightweight was ever so noticeable compared to the 205 which is about double the weight.
However when exiting Barn corner onto the straight on one lap with 3 Westfields parked up my arse I decided it was time to unleash the full potential of the DON so from about 4000rpm in 2nd gear I drove it as I normally would on the drag strip! I think to say they were quite suprised when I had reached the end of the straight whilst they were half way down would be a fair comment!
I was due to go out at the end of the day for another 5 or so laps with the video camera on board, but unfortunately a guy there with a V8 TR7 blew it to bits and dumped oil everywhere which brought the day to a slightly early finish, so no footage which is definately a shame.

Just superb! The car looks excellent. I did Cadwell about 3 weeks ago, just loved the circuit. Did you get air at the mountain :)

I was at Oulton Park yesterday which was a great day, apart from in the morning when the drizzle and all the crap from the BTCC this weekend made it an ice rink. 3 major offs and one badly damaged Elise before 10.30 was not a good sign. Luckily it dried and we had a great time. Just cant wait to get my Mini finished and get it out there. A couple of the Mighty Mini racers were out and looked to be having fun.

It has been discussed and may happen at some point, although as Carl pointed out, the DON would perhaps lose its identity if painted, as it is now well known looking like it does.

i have a new background, the right hand picture! looks like you had a great time mate. i will be taking mine there when its done. oops i mean if it ever gets done!
