Hi. Just wondering what needles everyone is using in their HIF 44 carbs. I have just managed to get my car running this week, however tbh it runs awfully. When cold it idles ok but as soon as the throttle is opened or when the engine starts to get warm, it just cuts out. Also, on the over run it seems to poor fuel out of the overflow.

What i am asking really is what needles everyone is running. Mine has BAN stated on it.

Also what is the approximate fuel pressure to run with the correct needle.

Thanks

Tom

I have made an overflow by putting a t- piece in the fuel line. Simply because i have a friend whos carb had an overflow pipe originally fitted and seemed to work pretty well. So should i take off the t-piece and just run a single fuel line then?

We need more info on your fuelling set-up.

Is it all metro turbo bits including the pressure regulator. pump carb and plenum?

What side are your feed and return fuel hoses?

What pressure have you set the idle fuel pressure at?

If your overflow is 'open' then you won't fuel correctly on boost. This needs sorting first.
