well after some very faultless running of the hog latley , had a burn up coming back from work on 14psi and yep you guesed it plenty of smoke from the breathers,

after a quick leak down test number 3 showed plenty of leakeage
strip head of nad every thing looked rosey with gasket head ect, so the lands have gone again on these crappy mega pistons.

so a quick phone call to avanbar and i have now some decent accrilites.

stripped an old block down and sent away with pistons to scholar engines, all should be back fro friday for a dummy build so i no how much to get skimmed of the block.

out of interest how much squish clearance are you guys running.

ian said about 10 thou mat woods uses 5thou so just some kind awrnswers would be fine.

Fuck no.... *Sick*

is that 2 or three times now?

on the bright side it's not likely to happen with the accralites,.

and will have to try and make space in my shed for the engine stand to build the new one as it is full of crapo from the old garage.

When did you buy these pistons? I'm fitting 2year old Megas in my engine now, but all this lately has made me worried...

Sorry to hear that Hoggy.. Crappy Mega's. Was there any sign of detonation on the tops of the pistons?, my guess would be NO....

Long live Accralites, mine now have more miles on them than both sets of Mega's put together. I liked the 14cc ones as they bring a unmodified head down to 8.5 CR though squish isn't great as they leave 40 thou to the deck

40thou is not much different to the Megas, or Omegas for that matter, they all have a piston height around 38mm It was just the original 12cc turbo pistons that had the extra height..

So sorry to hear this dick, you should have waited at scholar and took it all home within the hour*wink*
Lets hope the new pistons do the job, as far as there reputation goes you will have to do something extreme to do any damage.

yes mat but he nether uses his lol.

to busy horse riding i recon.

but the cast omegas are a good piston but still would have to pay around £300 for a set now so i just went for accrilites in the end.
