it makes it noisy, but the rubber mountings will keep breaking and give a vague feel to the handling ,suggest poly type as comprimise if noise is an issue |

should add, there is a little extra noise (mostly engine vibrations geting transmitted through) but general road noise, seems exactly the same.. bit of dynamat would cure the high frequencies and your laughting :) turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

thanks for the advice evolution, was thinking of solid mounting the towers and the front mounts and then poly mounting to the floors. from what you say i think i will solid mount to the floors aswell now. ““A turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.”” - Jeremy Clarkson

iain on the early cars it can be worth either double plating the floor mounts area or using big washers as I have known the floors to crack round the floor mounts on the early cars.

B12, mine were a doddle to fit! anyways, while onthe subject, check the tower bolts daily for the first week of driving, as i found minse slacking off alot untill they settled down. Also when you get the mounts the "tower" mounts with the chamfered edges go on teh subframe side of the box-section, as these go over the weld on the subframe. i know this as one of mine wasnt chamfered and i had to relieve the metal myself! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

heres another one, has anyone used the commercially available subframe strengthening kits? I seam welded mine and then bolted it through the bulkhead as well to brace it a bit more.

my front subrame is solid mounted. I have also welded plates to the floor where it is bolted to. I have also bolted it in two places just below the bulkhead box On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

the front subrame can crack on the arch up to the holes (2)as the subframe 'spreads' you can brace across the lowest part 'connecting 'where the bottom arms locate, and go below the exhaust , make it bolt on though. |

the garage that fit my new front panel didnt put any front mounts on my front subframe, it then went straight for respray. A week later, all along the top of the wing's seams' paint was cracked :( Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt
