One for the supercharger guys! I have just bought a 2nd hand supercharger setup (Jonspeed) I bought it as a starting point for my own project. I want to get it all up and running and have a play about before the winter. What fuel pressure is everyone using? What is the best CR for the charger with standard pulley. And finally has anybody fitted a suck through webber without any bonnet mods. If so any pics? and if not why not? am I missing something?

Cheers in advance

Mark

Hi mate my fuel pressure at idle is set to 3.5psi on the regulator. the CR is 9.01 without decomp plate and 26cc chambers, running at 8psi this should be fine.havnt seen a weber suck through without bonnet mods but should be possible if u havnt got servo, but to be honest the hif44 is easily up to the job.

Hi Thanks for that! Do you know what needle you are using? I was thinking of the weber for bigger power further down the line!

The carb won't be the limiting factor in power, a 1 3/4 su will be just as good as a webber on a suckthrough. the limit is the SC.

as for fuel pressure you son't need to vary it with boost on a suck through, so 3.5 at idle is fine, but it'll still be at 3.5 at 6000rpm.

max boost with an m45 is 10psi, so a cr of between 8.5 and 9 would be what i'd aim for.

Hi,yes its an mg metro needle that was profiled on a rolling road. unfortunately that is the only way to get the fuelling spot on,and believe me with forced induction the last thing u wanna do is get the fuelling wrong.:)
