stoke-on-trent

Ok so I replaced the headgasket on my daily drive yesterday. It went between 1 and 2 in quite a big way.

Anyway, after torquing the head down and redoing a couple of corroded electrical connectors to the coil the car won't run properly.

It sort of pulses on idle and wont rev smoothly. I have been racking my brains all night but can't think it through.

Any help much appreciated as always guys.

Did you replace the manifold gasket and have you checked that it is torqued down properly since you ran the engine ?.

I have not had the head skimmed.. Been playing with the mixture a bit, trying to get it a bit richer - timing is set at 8 degrees btdc.

All the gaskets were replaced and torqued accordingly.

Will recheck the manifold gasket though since i didnt recheck it this afternoon.

tightened everything. It is running on all four cylinders. It does idle, but dies pretty quickly, I was going to try leaning it off a bit and have a play with the timing again when I'm off tomorrow
