Hi Chaps
Sadly the time has come when i need to sell one of my Minis. Ive changed jobs and now need a bigger car for the daily commute etc.
Im selling my 1990 Mini mayfair which was rebuilt in June Last year.
I bought the car in feb 2007 as a Mint condition automatic which had covered 22,000 miles. I bought this as it had never been welded or messed with and was in excellent condition.
I bought a 1000cc 1989 Manual metro engine from Leighton Mini Center which i saw in the donor car and it had only covered 18,000 Miles!
In stripping the car down i found that it had a tiny amount of rust on the outer sills, a patch, on the underside of each door and a tiny 5p sized bubble under one of the headlamps. As the car was so good everywhere else i thought i would build it in to the style of mini i always wanted and i wanted it top last so in the end i had
2 new Genuine wings
new genuine front panel
2 x new genuine outer sills
The shell was repaired and then given a full respray at a proffesional body shop in the original Flame red but with a gloss black roof.
I also had a set of group 2 archers sprayed in the same black.
On the rebuild i fitted a new front subframe
Brand new Cooper S Calipers and 7.5"disks
Genuine 10 x 6 Minlite alloys
Mk 1 wavy grille with moustach
Center binnacle conversion
Somerford Mini Stage 1 kit
Adjusta-rides all round with Gas self adjusting dampers
Every bush and seal was replaced on the car
Archers were fitted properly with stainless clinch nuts and dome head bolts. Stainless screws/bolts used all over
There really is to much to list as i wanted this car to appear as new so no expense was spared. I have reciepts, pictures and a file documenting all parts of the rebuild.
I will get some pictures up later tonight when i get home from work.
Ive used the mini everyday for the past year with a 1 day a week commute to preston up the m6 (120 miles)
Engine has been serviced on a strict 3 monthly schedule with Valvoline Vr1 20/50 oil.
I can hand on heart say that it has never missed abeat and never let me down. I covered 10000 miles in it last year so the mileage is now Just over 30K.
Its been brilliant! It took part in the Minifinity RR day in Aprill and managed a massive 50bhp! with the operator saying it was perfect and a great reflection of the fun a mini can be.
Its 100% rust free and will give somebody a lot of enjoyment with no required work.
Im really sad that this has to go and i will only let it go to the right home where it will continue to be well looked after and enjoyed.
Please email or pm me if you want any more info
Im looking for around £3000 ono
