Hi all. My exhaust manifold has started leaking from the centre (where the manifold touches the head). The gap can be seen by just looking at the manifold! Have any of you had any problems similar to this? Could my manifold be warped? Or should i try just replacing the gasket? Cheers

its common for them to warp slightly.

some time with a file and straight edge will sort it *smiley*

no gasket will cope with a deformed face.

yes, as iain says you have to file away the two outer and use a straight edge to check your work
be patient and you will get there
use a good or new file

ive had this problem
didnt have time to file it at the time,
so i just cut the centre section from an old gasket to make up the gap and bolted it upi as usual,
works well

Also, make sure you are using the correct gasket with the steel fire ring.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

yes, please get the file out and not a second gasket...

i know it works but hey, a lot of things do and we still dont do them...
