Ringing Cars........I have taken a load of pics so 56k beware

Ha ha not that kind of ringing :) !!! thought you lot may be interested in some of the photos, sorry to be the geek who posts his holliday snaps........well not really


went to Belgium for a couple of days, so went over the border to Germany and had a day at the ring, it was a mint experience of which i would most deffo go back and do again as long as the bikers were told to do one ! had it not been for the countless people on motorbikes comming off it would have been better !

well we arrived in our M3 in convoy with John in his M5 and had a bite to eat and a walk around there were loads of minis, but nowt special, a waste of time IMHO taking one on but hey eacch totheir own... The Hybrid honda minivan was there tearing up the tarmac. The whole area was buzzing, and i would be lying if i said i was not overwhelmed !

I got stung to go first

"Richie your the profesional driver you go first and get the tyres warmed up" ....i should never have mentioned i had just requalified class 1 the day before we left DOE !!! well i hopped in and Daniel hopped in with me cruised around to the toll booth following John in his M5, set the car to Sports mode and contemplated my fate....ticket into the barrier then a cruise up through some cones (to stop you going balls out from the off) at the end of the cones the violence began and i floored it 6500rpm all the way up to sixth drafting John, the car handled fantastic the brand new 45 series tyres were doing well !! i continued to drive aggressive corner after corner, finally onto the carrosel hitting it at some speed, it litterally compressed you into the seat.. i finally got back to home straight half way up of which the exit to join the back of the queue was. i managed to get 160 mhp before backing off for the exit ! managed the lap in under 10mins so happy i did not do worse than Clarkson. Checked the tyres after that onslaught and they were all feathered i can only describe the track as 12 miles of violence !

Day two involved a bit more chillin out, John, Michael and Chris had an appointemtn at Spa race circuit with the Caterhams, our passes were fro wednesday morning so we could not go play. Instead i pursuaded Sarah and Daniel to come with me to Bastogne so off we went had a trip to the museum there and i also managed to get a Hard Back Copy of "Easy Company Soldier" which had been signed by Sgt Donald Mularky (from band of brothers for those who dont know) so i was well chuffed !!

Day three and off to Spa, this place truelly is the epitamy of race circuits ! we had use of a R400 superlight Caterham which was an absolute monster, i want one of these for sure ! we were destroying 911 GT3RS's like they were nova merits ! some nice ferrari's and a load of radicals, ultima GTR's Noble GTR's. Lambo's you name it it was there, alot of serious money floating about !!!

my camera was dying so only managed to get one short clip of John pulling the car out of the pit garage, but it still sounded good :)

I would love to go back but costs are huge for this experience ! the car alone for two days was £1800 mind that shared out si not too bad i guess ! Also with regards to the Ring if you want Sabine to take you out for a lap in her Ring Taxi (M5) it will cost you £1400 for the lap !!!!!!!!!! fuck that even though she is hot and drives like Bielsibab you would be a mug to pay it :)

Nice one, i am going over the the ring tomorrow to run a 1974 F1 car at on the gp circuit at the Oldtimer Festival. Won't get any chance to drive round the ring this time will be far too busy to go!!

I should be there a week on friday when im over in cologne.

class. Antman they are busy doing alot of work in prep for the Ring being re opened for F1, it has been brought back into the F1 circuit :)

I'm going to the 'Ring for the second time this year in under 2 weeks!

i would love to go but not got a car to go in also ive heard if you hit the armco it costs mega mega bucks lol

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

yes 300 euro per metre !!!! dont hit armco !!! or if you do try and hit it head on they are shit hot you wont get away without a bill, Spa was the same they have a security guy follow you hahaha !!! you will notice pink spots on damaged armco which are marked up at the time of ure car hitting it and photographed.

bikes are nowt but trouble constantly peeps being ambulanced away bikes being scraped up, its hellish ! one crash we couldnt see anyone or any bike just marks on the kerb a mark on the grass and the top of the armco was bent over, yellow flag city and pannicked marshals running over. it transpired a biker had gone over the top into the ravine ring closed for 2 hours, yet another victim killed on the ring !!!!!!

even if you didnt drive it its worth going just for the sights and the atmosphere !plus there are loads or Ring chicks looking to pick up blokes with hot motors !!!

people were turning up in all manner of shit box, litterally last legs just to finish em off, we discussed a competition for next time, each person has 300 quid to spend on a ringer (ring car :) ) take it over and who ever lasts the longest wins bit of a top gear challenge really.

the car has to be fully road legal and driven to the venue though
