Ive got an engine thats got undercrown cooling via carburettor jets (A Vmax Scart mod) positioned just above all three main caps in the block and angled up towards the undercrowns of the pistons but Ive noticed that many chaps on the site have a different set up which looks far superior. Does anyone have knowledge of the V Max and opinions on the please. Also doesn't this mod affect oil pressure http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c248/spe...er1/mini007.jpg

I thought nic had some holes simply drilled in his con rods around the big end which shoot oil upto the piston? |

If you use the Ford jets (part number 1053936) then oil pressure doesn't suffer. They have a pressure valve (spring and ball) which stays closed below a certain pressure. I don't know what pressure though! On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

indeed. the ammount of oil being flung up by those gears and the crank negates the reasoning for the undercrown jets unless you have a windage tray. On 19th Feb, 2011 Miniwilliams said:

What about #1 piston? I don't see much oil spray from the gears under that cylinder?

Theres a few pics of them in my build thread too. Although with the way I done it, it will probably confuse the matter more than clarify it On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

i use the ford jets in my engine. I'm not sure if thaw have helped my engine. But in the last 6 years of running up to 20psi i've never had a problem. And if they don't do anything then nothing lost. Con anyone think of a disadvantage of running them? On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

They're not essential, but, anything that aids reliability must be worthwhile, plus it's a cheap mod anyway.

the only disadvantage i can think of Jim is your pulling oil away from the rest of the engine, but i'm sure people on here say the pumps are more then up to the job. Just don't use a Standard oil pump like i use lol. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph
