Hi,

I am installing a megajolt into my mini but want to run a rev counter.

I have read on here that the best way to do it is to drill out the EDIS and connect the rev counter to that.

Has anyone got a pictures of this, and when the wire needs to go.

Also could someone direct me to the correct rev counter I am going to need for this, I want it to have a black background, chrome bezel and 52mm diamater to match my other gauges.

Thanks for the help guys.

Jon

Any rev counter should be ok, try http://www.minispares.com/SearchResults.as...mple&ty=fi&rt=1 and http://www.minispares.com/SearchResults.as...mple&ty=fi&rt=1 for the bezel

i think no 11 on the megjolt is the one for the rev counter

this may be useful

You can use the Megajolt output on most aftermarket rev counters.

The method described above is used when using the original mini counter.

Mine 'was' working fine from the pin for Rev counter (MJ V4) but then got very bouncy, etc)
I splined it into the pip line on the MJ and its working fine (That was a tip from Brent from Autosport)

I had to plumb mine into the PIP signal to stop the bounciness.

On mine i have 3 wires. +12v, Gnd and Signal.

The signal wire is the one that needs to go to the MJ PIP signal.

Will the standard mini counter work from the MJ PIP?

Don't know but it definitely works if you connect it to the tach output on the EDIS module.

I tried both the MJ tach output & the diode circuit but neither of them worked with the Rover tacho.

This is what I thought.

Does anyone know what pin is the tach output on the EDIS?

Or you can use teh tach out on teh MJ itself, although it can become bouncy

You just splice into the pip on and connect the signal wire to that... tacho works g-reat! (Mine is aftermarket tacho) not sure about the rest, soz.

My Metro tacho didn't work properly from the MJ output so I tee'd into the PIP wire and it's OK now
