You'll be lucky to get away without removing a bit of the "X" brace. Both 8v twinks I've done so far have been clubbies which fit without bonnet mods If Carling made Mini engines

I had to cut mine out. The centre of the cross brace touches the front middle section of the cam cover. I just cut mine as close as I could to the corners. Edited by matty on 9th Aug, 2008. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

I have taken extra measures to try and get away without removing the cross brace, but I am not sure if it will be enough, will have to wait to get the engine in the car On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I know Miniminor63 had to remove the X alltogether. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

Thanks again. matty - any chance of a picture of the underside of the bonnet just so i can have a look. Tom Just imagine the bonnet without the cross brace, and only the corners with the hinge brackets left on

I cut all mine out, but the bonnet is bendy as hell without it. Should be able to get away with cutting less out, but I couldn't be arsed messing around with it.... just wanted to get it going and was planning to put a carbon/glass fibre one on. |

As I discovered today the head end plate also just slightly rubs on the bonnet above the inlet pulley. A slight tilt on the bonnet would sort this though. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel
