Hi everyone,

Just got my engine back from the tuners. Apparently its got high compression? whats this mean and what are the disadvantages.

I have had all the head work done I could.

Any ideas on how to lower this compression are is it ok?

bigger piston dish or cumbusion chamber sizes are the two main methods.

'It;s got high compression'?

What does that mean indeed? High CR? High boost? A 'high' reading on a compression tester?

I'd assume the last one but what does that tell you? The standard Metro turbo engine is essentially a high compression engine.

if it is a compression test pressure reading thats high could be
short duration cam - longer the valves are open the less air you compress
too high compression ratio- did you check the maths when building it ?
is it a problem ? does it pink ? ? bonus of this is less lag , downside is less boost can be used
