I've had enough trying to find somewhere that sells individual wheel nuts for Slot Mags. To the point that I'm toying over making my own as they're pretty simple things really. Now what I want to know is can I get away with making them from bog standard mild steel? or do I need to use something more fancy? As a side note I allready have a dozen proper nuts, so I was only going to be running one home made nut on each wheel. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Minispares sell individual wheel nuts. Are the slot mag nuts special in any way? http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

They're a weird nut with a curved edge iirc.

Why not have a taper seat machined into your wheels and then buy 16 taper seat wheel nuts?

That's definitely an option that would work well, and I'm sure I could think of a northern gent would do a first class job, but that would cost money where as I've got some 3/4" mild steel hex bar knocking around and I've got a lathe so it would cost nothing to make my own nuts. Just not sure if bog standard mild steel is up to the job. Edited by Rob H on 13th Aug, 2008. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Can you not buy the taper nuts and then modify them yourself to suit the wheel? http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk
