Just a quick question, a friend of mine may have a MED built 1430 bottom end forsale.
Would it fit a k1100 head (block drilled to accept ofcors) or is there a size limit??

Thanks Rick

head gasket could possibly be an issue, but not a big one I think. So I would say go for it.

I'm sure it would be fine, especially with shallow cut outs. Sprockets old engine only looked nibbled, as does Philc's

Short height with cutouts and dish *smiley*, plus 1430 is just long stroke 73.5mm. You can still use normal height pistons with a certain rod. Wolfie had a stroked turbo 1355 iirc +40 with same stroke as yours

I believe the piston crown thickness is the same as a 1380 piston, just the pin is higher. Id call Steve or Lee at MED, they will give you a frank answer

I seriously doubt it!

You can get away with the bare minimum on the size of the cut outs if you machine the pistons individually for each cylinder. The cutouts on the MED pistons are fantastically huge because they will fit in any bore and are probibly deeper too

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
