Well the Mini has run out of MOT and it won't pass without work. So I thought that I'd put it away for a bit and do it all up nice an pretty, rather than just weld patches on to get it through.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

205 diesel would be my bargain basement choice, lighter than the equiv 306, dirt cheap, mega mpg.

If you can stretch your budget to 1k then you can buy a ka. Small, great mpg, it wont go wrong, and will still be worth 1k in a years time :) |

Agree 205 diesels are great, but 306,s are nearly as good and cheap and more easily found than a half decent 205. |

Autotrader is a dangerous place, but this seems reasonable, I'd have though £300 would secure it.

I had a justy as a loan car from a garage. I only ran round town in it but it did seem to use a lot of fuel. |

The 4x4 on the Justy adds nothing particularly to the performance or handling, but does a good job of supping fuel. Don't bother is my advice.

look on ebay for rovers with popped head gaskets. There's millions and they go for silly money, seen for go for £10 or so. Half a day to fix and jobs a good'n. :) |
