I've tried the search but no help. What versions of the K1100 head are available ? are some much better than others or doesn't it matter.

well, better for what? The K1200 head have smaller diameter valve stems (5 mm), but are except for that the same as the K1100 head and the K100 4v heads, which have 6 mm stems.

BTW. If we talk about cams, the K1100 ones are better for a turboed car (less duration) while the K100 RS 4v ones are the most agressive standard cams made for them.

I believe the

K1100 LT and RS are 254 duration 7.9mm of lift.

K1, K100 4v, and K1200RS have 284 duration 8.8mm of lift.

There appears to be a few different variations in chamber size too. K1100 (UK) generally seem to be 18cc. Im sure ive heard some others have chambers of 24cc or 28cc in aus though.

So would I be right in thinking any K1100 or K1200 head would be fine to use, if you're looking at having it modified into a race head 8-)

Whoops, not the first time I've got it wrong and I'm sure it won't be the last, oh well at least I leaned something new today.

The K1200 head would be the better option, with the narrower valve stems *wink*

Some nice reprofiled cams from an obvious source *wink*

But dont forget to get the valve stems machined to accept lash caps if you do use reprofiled cams *wink*

*happy*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
