hi guys got some valves hanging about how do you tell a turbo valve from a standard mg 1300 some have a code on them tam 556

measure the stem...

if the exh steam is the same as the inlet then they are non-turbo.

Exh valve stems are thicker as the valve is sodium filled!

I thought it was the valve head that was sodium filled not the stem?
Also thought the stem was larger dia purely to give a greater contact area to conduct heat into the guide?
As usual please correct me if I am spouting sh!te!

The idea is to transfer heat from the head to the stem...

so you need some room in the stem in order for the liquid sodium to move from head to stem area.
