Not very sunny swanage

quick question, i know its generally considered a good idea to slot two of the bottom bolt holes on the clutch cover to aid removal in car, but which two is it? i looked at it tonight, and i can remeber the very bottom one under the engine mount being a real pain, and one other, but which one, the one towards the front of the car, or the one towards the rear? must sound like an odd question, but the engine is in the garage, and the subframe is down the drive, so its kinda hard to figure out with them not being side by side!!

Cheers,

Pete

alex,im guessing that if you slot the bottom holes, you would only have to release bolt and then slide the clutch cover up

yeh, correct. from what people have said that have done it before, it just saves you having to undo the two really hard two reach bolts completly. i know which one one of them is, but its been a long time since i last did a clutch in car and im buggered if i can remember if the one toward the front of the car, or the one towards the rear of the car is also very difficult/?!?!

You must be a fooking lazy bugger to take 2 hours to remove an engine in 2hrs with a flippy front Alex - Then again, it takes me around 7 hours to remove, and 10 to re-fit!!!

As regards the holes, i always leave the rear one (at around 8 O-Clock) out, and have the bottom two slotted. You have to slot them both in the same orientation of course!!!
