just one more question. could i run a standard na metro carb at 7psi and under with no mods

Sure but it wont be too powerful and you had better fit a good fire extinguisher system

You'll need a 1 3/4" HIF so that the plenum fits, but the standard carb should in theory work.

The issue of the seals only working in one direction is an overhyped myth IMO. SU carbs have been shown to work with boost and no changes to the carb sealing.
