Does anyone know which blocks are older?-thick or thin flange blocks? Some people say the thick flange blocks are older, it was changed to thin flange to save some metal - some say they made thick flange blocks because of reliability problems with thin flange blocks?! Any comments? Bimmer Twinky headed and turboed A-Series:

Afaik all 1300 blocks are thick flange blocks as fitted to Austin 1300 bodies, Marinas, allegros etc.
