Does anyone know who sells hose clips? NOT jubilee clips, but the ones that have a nut and bolt to clamp them up, if someone knows the correct name for them it may help aswell. Lol

Everywhere I search just comes up with jubilees! I need some around 45mm? *oh well*

Cheers

Cheers Tom, yeah there for my inlet stubs. Jubilees are to big and don't seem to clamp evenly like the other type. I'll have another search.

I know what these are for *wink*

Try these, they are only 8mm bands, so narrower than others *wink*

Other option is phone Motorworks and order 8 new inlet rubber clips from them

Whoopsie, linky *happy*

If you are indeed talking about the inlet stacks / injector holders on a K-head, we ran into the problem on Jims. The narrow jubilee imitators sucked, so we just used quality Jubilees, but notched the clip itself to clear the boss aropund the injector, which allowed it to fit much better.

The problem then was the tight turn radius of the silicon hose.

I'd definately recomend using a decent hose clip, but notching it to allow it to sit in a location such that it can do its job better.

Mikalor are dung IMO.

Pressure test your system and see. The bands are far too thick, and there is large step at the overlap, where the pipes can, and do leak.

Get proper thin banded stainless T-bolt clamps.

Although on the small diam pipes on a mini, and relatively low boosts involved....good quality stainless hose clamps will work fine..
Or there are modern variations around that same theme. Do ensure all pipework has some form of retention bead.

i might put one of these on the return for the rad eg where the bottom hose would normally go onto the back of the block..

it keeps blowing off thier, done it with 2 hoses.

Yeah the stub are about 5mm to short to get a jubilee on and behind the beading on the stub! *oh well*

I like the idea of notching the clips may give that a go, cheers!

For small diameter hoses like that, just use a good quality stainless jubilee type clip.

The T-Bold style would only really be needed for very high boost applications, and if the base metal you're clamping around is strong enough to support them. I've seen people destroy aluminium, and even stainless pipes from overtightening T-Bolt clamps.

And unless you can get the thin banded T-Bolt clamps, dont bother, the big thick bulky ones like Mikalor sell are crap and for huge industrial hose or exhausts

ie, these with the separate and thick/bulky overlap are shit and rarely seal properly. Great for exhausts though

http://www.spareco.com.au/documents/catego...BOLT_CLAMPS.jpg

These with the very thin band and overlap work great, if of course they are needed in the first place, which on a 45mm hose...no way would they be unless pushing 50-60psi or there are issues like no beading on the metal pipes etc
