Hi I'm curently dismantling my donor metro turbo.

Is it possible to re-use the metro turbo downpipe as mine seems to be in a good state ?

or is it better to buy the Maniflow one ?

Thanks for your help.

Hello guys I'm from France and since my 18th birtday I 'm dreaming of a turbo engine in my Mini. I'm here to do it !

I asked a similar question recently as I wanted to use a spare Metro one as a "template" to make my own stainless one.

The basic difference is the Metro one is 1 3/4" diameter whereas the Manilow one is available in 2" diameter to suit the Mini (most of the performance exhausts suitable for turbo are 2"), but it is mild steel.

I wanted 2" diameter stainless so am making my own.

When I asked the question some people said they thought the Metro one was also a different height to the Mini one but I have the whole lot hanging off the bottom of my project at the moment (Metro one) and the height looks OK to me.

So if anyone has a definitive answer about the (potential) height difference, it would help me too.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
