For sale is my 1380 mini that ive had since 2005 and have modified very heavily to what you see now.
Here is a link to what i wrote about it in the project section
http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/in ... &hl=bertie
Its also had a Cobra imob. and RAC Tracstar tracker fitted and ive had a pair of minisport 4 pots fitted to fit under the brand new 10's im running. All the work has been done by Neil at Slarks (where it is at the mo getting an uprated cluch fitted) and the body work by his brother including fitting all the carbon fibre, doing the brilliant dash and painting it all up!! Very very nice job indeed.
Also look at my sig below for more pics of the car and also if you go for a good look on there, you can see what it was like before i started it all.
But i must warn anyone looking to buy it. Its not an everyday car. I only run it on Vpower and it only returns 12 miles to the gallon on a fast run. Its not exactly high maintainance but needs servicing and looking after. The engine itself is very high spec. Everything ive had done to the car, ive got the best. In my mind, you only want to do it once!! Also getting a full race clutch so not much fun sat in traffic!!
All the carbon fibre is from Curleys which includes one piece flip front, doors, door cards, parcel shelf, boot, bumpers and roof. The roof is seamless. See the pics in the sig link.
Its silly fast and really takes some getting use to. It done 155BHP @4K on Vmax's rollers and with almost everything being carbon fibre, is very light. It has had almost everything removed from inside. No carpets, sound proofing, heater and rear seats.
Ive also got a reduced size pulley kit that ive not got round to fitting that will also go with the car.
Ive got bills totalling over £18k from when i brought the car and a spec sheet of the engine.
So the reason why im selling.
Well, i just dont get to drive it anymore. I never take it out in the rain. Thats my choice i know but ive been out in the damp and its not much fun. Even in the dry it spins when pulling away like a grandad!! Ive also moved house so the car isnt as readily available for me as its kept in my brothers girlfrieds garage so its a mission to get out to it. Im also starting a new job and could really do with a more modern, practical car. You drive the mini and you get to where your going in a sweat. Not good when your sat in an office full of ladies!! Also doing alot of fishing means ive had the by a rhubarb AX to bomb about in, which slow and very very poor!!
So there you have it. If there are any other questions you have, then feel free to mail me on johnnysti@hotmail.co.uk
The car is current in Slarks waiting for Neil to get back from his 'holiday' to Scotland!! Hurry up mate!! So if your round that way, feel free to pop in and take a look at it and if you want a non biast opinion then call him!!
Oh yeah, there are also a couple of pics and a small write up about it in Augusts Mini mag page 57. Thats not my girlfriend either!!!
