lol, when i pulled in for the mot yesterday, the tester said 'i think you need a new gearbox mate'

i thought with only straight cut drops the noise wouldnt be to bad..must be very noisy with a straight cut gearbox aswell

sounds great!! Mini/metro's whine in 1st gear anyway, granted not as loud as s/c drops. Personally I wouldn't have it any other way.

Its the drops that make most of the noise mark, so fitting straight cuts gears in the gearbox would'nt make alot more noise.

Personally I love the noise of s/c drops and would fit them to my engine whether it needed them or not, just for the noise!!!

But so funny about usually an old man comes rushing over and tells you to turn it off quick before it explodes! My other toy has a plate LSD in it that clanks like anything at low speed, that is always amusing to see the alarmed looks of peoples faces in Tesco car park....

very well jon....passed mot straight through and just running in at the moment.it feels very strong and smooth so looking forward to finishing the running in process... only problems ive had are a leaky washer on oil banjo bolt and stainless steel window wipers flying over back of car when it started raining and i put them on!

replace the copper washer with a new/newer one and nip it right up!

That engine has all the right bits cam' head etc.

Is it intercooled? if so should be good for 20psi now and again but would recommend 12/14 for normal running.

see how it feels.
