mine are there noiseist when i decellerate by dropping a gear when slowing down...is this normal...what are other peoples experiences with straight cut drops regarding noise Edited by mark4765 on 19th Aug, 2004. |

Noisy and chatter at tick over with most people telling me it sounds fu*ked!!!

a;ex lol,when i pulled in for the mot yesterday,the tester said 'i think you need a new gearbox mate' i thought with only straight cut drops the noise wouldnt be to bad..must be very noisy with a straight cut gearbox aswell regards mark |

sounds great!! Mini/metro's whine in 1st gear anyway, granted not as loud as s/c drops. Personally I wouldn't have it any other way. Speedster turbo under construction |

Its the drops that make most of the noise mark, so fitting straight cuts gears in the gearbox would'nt make alot more noise. -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

LOL it can get a little embarrassing at times as every one thinks "that mini fukced" cos of the nosie! Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Personally I love the noise of s/c drops and would fit them to my engine whether it needed them or not, just for the noise!!!

replace the copper washer with a new/newer one and nip it right up!
