I'm just about to order some rear drums for the car and after a bit of searching, its apparent there are some imitations of the original super minifins available on e-bay for a siginficant saving over the originals. Anyone got anything to say about them?

I'm not one to cut corners with safety but i'm not one to spend money if I don't need to either

cheers

rob

The one's I got from ebay are really good quality.

Just make sure that they have the steel inserts.

I'd give you the link, but I got mine ages ago.

In the garage......again!!

good for the unsprung weight, i have a set of Minisport ones and those chinese copies, compared side to side, i can't see a difference, i say get em if you can afford em, they are usually 45-50 quid which is half price roughly.

I've got a set of Minifins. They are non spacered.

How insightful. I have some spacers, does that add to the debate.

The thing is, you cannot buy Minifins anymore. Not for twenty years!

i've got a set of the original minifins already but as Vegard points out - they are non spacered. I could just add separate spacers but the spacered drum would be better.

I made the mistake of buying HS ones ages ago. I think they are actually cast iron spacered drums with some alloy fins cast on. They are perhaps more heavy than iron drums!!!! The casting also looks second rate.

Sadly, you get what you pay for. The superfins are beautiful things in comparison.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.
