i have a 1275 mg turbo engine in my mini it runs perfect till the turbo cuts in then its lacking fuel has anyone got any ideas why this is and what the fuel pressure should be (ive got 2 1/2 from pump) also does anyone know if there is a uprated inlet manifold gasket available as ive got through 3 in a month |

do a search mate as all your questions come up with alarming regularity (except the gasket one.. jsut use good gaskets and torque it up roperly!) turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

ive checked every thing and they are all fine (fuel pump fuel lines fuel regulator ) all was fitted new about a month ago ive got a standard mg turbo pump would i need a more powerfull pump |

Your pump should push out at least 30lbs |

outlet pressure from the reg. to the carb. should be 3.5psi at idle and should stay at 3.5psi until boost transision then rise in proporsion with the boost i.e. if you've got 5psi boost then you should see 8.5 psi fuel pressure. |

You need to set your fuel pressure between 3.5 and 4 PSI on the carb side of the pressure regulator. Your exhaust manifold may not be flat so we suggest you get the faces machined and use a genuine turbo gasket. |

They are exactly the same as twin point gaskets I was told...

I got 8 exhaust gaskets from minispares around 2 months ago...

i use a gasket from avonbar, you pay more but it has the metal rings arround the cut-outs. Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

if youve checked everything and its all ok then youve missed something or not checked it right. (didnt mean to sound blunt)
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Just a quick note to you guys on the subject of exhaust gaskets, the o/e turbo ones are NOT the same as the injection Minis, also the MPi has an all steel face withvery thin metal support rings which is a very good gasket but not for turbo use. |

check the gasket between the carb and plenum you may be useing a NA gasket,check the balance pipe? tried the t-piece trick?, and tehres a few threads on setting the fuel pressure correctly :)
