Hello,

please, can a forum member give me a great help?

(Don't know, if "forwarding" is the right word)

On the ".bay", I was the winning bidder for a set of 4 alloy wheels
(6 x 10") incl. fitted tyres.
The seller offered in his advert postage ("Seller's Standard Rate")
20 GBP.

Per Paypal I transferred at the end of the winning day the amount of the winning bid + the right amount for postage to GERMANY with a well-known courier (offering door to door service) in advance.
And, together with an ebay-mail, if the transferred postage costs
are perhaps not sufficient, I would pay a difference, of course).
FASTER payment than at the "winning bid day" isn't possible!

Today, I got an email, that the seller is transferring the whole money back to my paypal account.
(I ebay-mailed him "why"........waiting for an answer)

The wheels are in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL53 9QJ.
(by the way, "Collection in Person" was offered, too)

May be, the seller changed his mind.......as at first I got an ebay-mail from him: "I thank your for your purchase of....... I appreciate your business."
(by the way, I'm privat, no dealer)

So, as I'm interested to get "my wheels" posted......... I intend
offering him to post the set of wheels to an UK address.

May be that's more comfortable for him? As I don't know if it is
much more work to ship something instead of within the UK in another country?

So, is someone here who would help me?
Receiving the parcel from the seller.....and then let the wheels be collected by the courier to Germany?

Of course, I would pay not only for the courier costs to germany but also for your time/effort/package material etc.!

BUT, the courier (DPD, I think well-known) is offering "door to door" from Monday to Friday and, you can choose the place where to collect from; home / work / neighbourhood etc.

Concerning details, name, address etc. then with PM

Best regards

i wouldnt have a problem doing this for you either. just get them posted from where the seller is to my work address and then either me or you could arrange collection from there to you. no extra charge for time etc just cost.

obvioulsy if wolfie can collect them (or anyone else) thats alot easier and cheaper for you so i would go with something like that, but the offer is there if you need it.

@all

Got an anwer (ebay-mail) from the seller, answering to my 2 ebay-mails
concerning "Collection in Person" or
posted UK.
I let you know the answer word by word:
"The auction was for UK only which was clearly printed in red on the auction page. I do not like how pushy you have been so. the wheels have been sold to another buyer. I have returned your money.
bye!"

At the very end of all his auction text, the seller wrote exactly:
"No reserve and can be pickud up from the Gloucestershire region or posted (UK only). Happy bidding."

UK only was printed in red.....but that is only of sense concerning posted.
NO WORD at all, that only UK bidders!

As stated before, the auction ended 03.09.2008, 18:57:16 MESZ.
BUT, SOMETHING VERY MYSTERIOUS happened 2 hours later!
I got an ebay-mail from another ebay member! He wrote, that I won the auction with the alloy's and he wants them sooooo very, very much. 3 minutes before end of the auction his w-lan collapsed and he couldn't bid. He wanted to bid in the auction twice as much as I did. And he offered me to sell the alloys to him...for 63 percent more GBP than my winning bid!
NO idea for me, I bought the wheels to fit them to the 35 year old Mini......never want to sell them.
(I think, the alloys are as old as the Mini).

Very very strange......

MAY BE.... only a thought......before... in these 2 hours after ending auction......a "nice guy"
contacted the "seller" and said: "Do you want to have some Pound Sterling more?"

Normally, as far as I know, if the auction has ended with the highest bid, the buyer has to pay the price (& postage) and the SELLER Must give the item to the buyer! In no way he can sell the item to another? And not within less than 48 hours after bidding end!

So, what can I do?

(In Germany, I would immediately take my car and drive to him and give him the money?)

Any suggestions

Best regards

Fritz

bac! unfortunately Ebay is not a legal contract and he can decided to not sell them to the winning bidder.

luckily most people are genuine and not wankers like this fella clearly is!

give him bad feedback and dont worry about him giving you some back because he cant!! *happy* then win every other auction of his for the next month and dont pay! Tosser!!!

sorry to hear it mate.

@James_H

Didn't know that.......that EBAY is not a legal contract in UK.

May be of use for other forum members in the future:

The seller was ebay member: fasttab
Glenn Turner, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL53 9QJ
(that's all what I now know)

Best regards

Fritz

PS: THANK YOU VERY MUCH for wanting to help me!
(Being a bit sad, as the set of MOMO-wheels should be a "secret surprise" present for my daughter's 18.birthday when getting her driver's license then)
