MS finally have their clubman gear kit in stock after waiting a bit, I notice they recomend the use of a special bulkring with the molybendybum coated gears. Is this critical? I may have to replace some of my bulks anyway but what does everyone else use?

Thankyou gentlemen.

Woolavington, Zummerzet

I built one up using the aftermarket baulk rings supplied in their rebuild kit and the bloody thing wouldn't turn over - jammed absolutely solid.

Seems the aftermarket ones are a gnats thicker than the OEM Rover ones, and the guy in the shop should have known better.
Ended up having to buy another set of genuine rings and everyting was lovely.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

I think that they may be the same dimension, its just that they are not 100% round. I have used those, and gotten the box to turn (rather heavily). After about 5 minutes use they have been broken in, and it works okay:)

Ah OK. I expect new baulks to be a bit tight, MS sell the copies, genuine Rover but also one especially for moly coated gears. I would probably try and reuse the ones I have already but if I need to get new ones should I get the moly ones or with the genuine Rover ones be OK? Just wondering why MS recomend the moly ones? Thanks.
